Shrimp with Garlic Butter Sauce - Low Carb Recipe

Ingredients :

1/3 lb of Shrimp (Fresh or frozen)
1 Tblsp Butter
3-4 Garlic cloves - diced
Splash of white wine (optional)
1 tsp of Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper

If using frozen shrimp, just place in a bowl of water and let thaw for 20 - 30 minutes. Drain water before adding shrimp to the pan.

If using fresh shrimp, sautee the shrimp in a skillet over medium heat in the oiive oil until pink. If they aren't peeeled and deveined, then you'll need to do that first.

For the sauce, simply add the oil, butter and garlic over low heat and allow to infuse for 10 - 15 mintues. Finish wth a splash of wine, salt and peper.

Add shrimp to sauce and stir to coat. Allow to heat through for another minute and serve.

Notes: Shrimp is a zero carb food. And the real problem is that cocktail sauce is usually loaded with sugar. But a butter sauce is zero carb.

Raw garlic is pretty intense. So allowing it to cook slowly and infuse with the butter will soften the garlic taste.

To kick up the sauce a bit, you could add freshly grated horseradish and splash of vinegar or just add some hot sauce. Also you could add a little squeeze of lemon to brighten the flavor and help cut through the butter.
